Data Scientist
Job Description
As a data scientist you are expected to perform different tasks based on the data from our product and customer. Your tasks includes (1): modelling tasks ranging from econometric models to deep learning models; (2) produce scientific report on the product; (3) Perform analysis under different context (i.e. ex-ante, before-after, ex-post); (4) Regular and active participation in joint activities, including meetings, to promote knowledge transfer and infrastructure development.
The position includes opportunities for career and skill development with exposure to cutting-edge space technology and marine monitoring applications.
Qualifications
- MSc degree in a research area relevant to statistics, computer science, data science, economics or equivalent
- Proficiency in at least one of R, Python, Matlab
- Proficiency in one of the SQL languages
- Documented experience in scientific writing, focusing on technical report and scientific publication
- Good written and spoken English
Other Merits
- Experience of working in open-source project
- Experience with container tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Podman etc)
- Experience with leveraging large scale cloud computing in projects
- Good knowledge in Linux is highly appreciated
- Soft skills such as communication and management are not mandatory but highly appreciated
- Vibe coding skills

The position requires a very good ability to adapt to new models, as well as other new technologies. Autonomy is important: we do not expect you to all know the possible models or approaches, but we expect you to make and execute action plans to tackle unfamiliar problems.
